Preparations are going on to schedule visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China in which leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation will collect for the SCO summit in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, source said Wednesday.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Modi is expected to hold bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, a meeting in an effort to take area amid increasing tensions with US over tariffs lists and purchase of Russian oil.

The two leaders last met on October 23, 2024 on the margins of the BRICS Summit in the Russian metropolis of Kazan, placing the level for the disengagement of troops at two friction factors along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh and resumption of patrolling.
