Several people killed, and others injured in an explosion at a bar in the ski resort of Crans-Montana in Switzerland. The blast occurred at 01:30 local time (00:30 GMT) in the Constellation Bar, according to a police statement.

Swiss news outlet Blick, citing a police spokesperson, reported that more than 100 people were in the bar at the time of the explosion. An unverified video, which has gone viral on social media, showed a fire burning in the bar during a New Year’s Eve celebration, according to the BBC. The police said a helpline for relatives of those affected set up.
While Blick reported that fireworks during a New Year’s Eve concert may have caused the fire, Swiss police stated that the cause is still unknown. Crans-Montana is a luxury ski resort town located about two hours from the Swiss capital of Bern.
