French prosecutors pursue the terrorism charges against three teens and adults of age between 16 to 17 for bombing attempt near Bank of America office in Paris. It seen as possible retaliation related to Iran conflict.
Teens Charged in Bank of America Bomb Plot
The Parquet National Antiterroriste announced that it is seeking these charges after bringing in an investigative judge who has broader powers to handle the case.
The four suspects face allegations of forming a criminal terrorist group, making an explosive or incendiary device, and attempting to destroy property in connection with terrorism. The PNAT confirmed in its statement that the suspects questioned while in police custody. A fifth individual released due to insufficient evidence.
Terrorism Charges Initiated by Anti-Terror Prosecutors
French authorities looking into potential links to a pro-Iranian propaganda video that released last week by a group called HAYI or “Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya.” This video called for retaliation against Jewish community interests in Europe and specifically mentioned the French headquarters of Bank of America. Officials mentioned they are working with other law enforcement agencies across Europe.
