US President Donald Trump on Sunday said that countries aligning with the “Anti-American rules” of BRICS can charged an additional 10% tariff. “Any Country aligning themselves with the anti-American rules of BRICS will charged extra 10% Tariff. There might be no exceptions to this policy. Thank you in your attention to this matter.” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump send Tariffs letter countries aligns with BRICS
The comments come because the US prepares to send tariff letters to dozens of countries within the coming days, with the Trump management’s 90-day pause on higher obligations set to run out on Wednesday. Trump said in a separate post that the letters start being brought from midday Monday, Washington time.
BRICS, a grouping of countries that includes Brazil, China, South Africa and India, held a meeting over the weekend, where leaders condemned US and Israeli attacks on Iran and called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to withdraw troops from the Gaza Strip. They suggests a “just and lasting” resolution to conflicts in the Middle East. Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Indian PM Modi have been amongst those attending the summit.

Trump did not make clear or enlarge on the “Anti-American policies” reference in his post. The original BRICS organization amassed leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, and China at its first summit in 2009. The bloc later brought South Africa and closing years, covered Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia as contributors.
