Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was proud as Telugu American Usha Vance, to become soon the U.S. second lady. He hailed Usha wife of Vice President-elect JD Vance in a statement said that her position is a moment of pride for the Telugus around the world.
Naidu underlined that her win marked history as she was going to be the first Telugu-origin Indian-American Second Lady of the United States.Usha Vance, née Chilukuri, hails from Vadluru, a village in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
The triumph of JD Vance alongside Donald Trump in the recently conducted U.S. presidential election has made Usha’s meteoric rise to stardom the subject of much celebration in Andhra Pradesh and especially in the Telugu community.

The village of Vadluru, sitting close to Tanuku, has been the pride and centre of interest of the locality ever since news of her new role started surfacing in the state.Naidu extended his felicitation to both JD Vance and Usha Vance. “The victory assumes more than ordinary importance as they represent a symbol of hope for unity among all people,” he said.
“I hope that they would visit Andhra Pradesh once again, rekindle their roots and ties with her ancestral homeland. This is a proud day for Telugu people everywhere; His achievement epitomises the success and resilience of the Telugu community on this global stage.”
Naidu also telephoned his felicitations to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. According to him, the future of Indo-U.S. relations looks bright under the leadership of President Donald Trump. He is reminded of the previous tenure of President Trump, when the partnership between our two nations was strengthened. Also, he is confident that the bilateral ties will further be taken forward, particularly with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As Andhra Pradesh basks in Usha Vance’s glory, Naidu and the Telugu community look forward to closer ties with the US and further strengthening the propagation of their cultural heritage across the world.
