Adani Green Unveils 3.37 GWh World’s Largest Battery Storage System

The deployment includes the 1.37 GWh capacity that was activated in March 2026. This brings AGEL’s total operational BESS capacity at Khavda, Gujarat, to 3.37 GWh, according to a company statement.

“Large-scale energy storage will play a key role in the next phase of India’s clean energy shift. As renewable energy capacity grows quickly, storage infrastructure is vital for providing reliable, continuous clean power,” said Sagar Adani, Executive Director of AGEL.

Aim to build clean energy infrastructure

With the launch of the 3.37 GWh BESS at Khavda, AGEL is reinforcing the groundwork for stable, dispatchable, and flexible energy systems. “Our investments in battery storage show our long-term commitment to building clean energy infrastructure,” Sagar Adani said.

The 3.37 GWh BESS can store enough clean energy to power nearly one million homes for an entire day. It supports peak electricity demand in cities like Indore, Chandigarh, or even the entire state of Goa.
