‘GADAR2′ BOX OFFICE COLLECTION
‘Gadar 2: The Katha Continues’ is the sequel to the iconic 2001 film, ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. The Gadar2 is breaking box office records. It has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in just three days. Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol return to play Sakina and Tara Singh in ‘Gadar 2’ directed by Anil Sharma.
It is obvious that the film will draw audiences to the theaters as Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will once again join forces. A record-breaking box office collection was achieved by Gadar2 on its first Sunday in theatres, August 13, earning Rs 52 crore. Director Anil Sharma’s film made 40.1 crore on day one and 43.08 crore on day two. As a result, the film earned Rs 135.18 crore for its first weekend. During Sunday, August 13, ‘Gadar 2’ had an overall occupancy of 85.29 percent.
‘OMG2’ BOX OFFICE COLLECTION
On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 has crossed Rs 40 crore in its first three days of release. On its first Friday, the satirical comedy with dollops of sex education collected Rs 10.26 crore; on its first Saturday, it collected Rs 14.50 crore, and on its first Sunday, it is expected to have made around Rs 18 crore. As of August 13, OMG 2 had an overall occupancy rate of 57.91 percent across all Hindi shows.
As of Sunday morning, Gadar 2 had sold 11,50,897 tickets, while OMG 2 had sold 3,14,200 tickets. Both films have received positive critical and audience reviews.
‘JAILER’ BOX OFFICE COLLECTION
Jailer was released on Thursday amid a huge fan frenzy and collected Rs 48.35 crore on its opening day, according to the trade aggregator Sacnilk. On Friday, the film earned Rs 25.75 crore, and on Saturday it earned Rs 35 crore. The film earned Rs 38 crore on Day 4, according to the website. The gross Indian collection for the film is estimated at Rs 127 crore.
Jailer will become the second fastest Tamil film to earn Rs 300 crores, while Rajinikanth’s 2.o earned Rs 400 crores in four days, making it the first fastest Tamil film to reach Rs 300 crores.
“Other stars take three to four weeks to put up a lifetime gross a big number, but #Superstar @rajinikanth’s #Jailer has crossed it in three to four days, in most other states and overseas markets,” wrote trade analyst Ramesh Bala on Twitter about Rajinikanth-Nelson’s rapid success.
