The Hebbagodi police in Bengaluru arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly stealing women’s undergarments from residential houses. He displaying them publicly. The incident reported when the police learned that a man steal women’s undergarments drying on terraces.
Bengaluru Police Arrested for Stealing Women’s Inner Garments
The informant claimed that the man wore the stolen garments, took photos of himself, and showed them to others.
Acting on this information, officers from the Hoysala patrol vehicle went to the scene, verified the complaint, and took the suspect into custody. He identified as Amal N, a native of Kerala who moved to Bengaluru about six months ago. He was living in a rented house with a friend. The police reported that he is unemployed and has a diploma.
Police found photos and videos on his mobile
During initial investigation, the Bengaluru police discovered several photos and videos on the suspect’s mobile phone showing him wearing women’s undergarments. A search of his residence uncovered more stolen undergarments from nearby houses.
The police said local women caught the accused and made him remove the undergarments. Based on this information, the police took action, registered a case on Tuesday, and arrested him the same day.
“During the investigation, we found 20 women’s undergarments that allegedly stolen from the terraces and houses of nearby residential buildings,” said a police officer.
The Hebbagodi police registered the case against the accused under sections 303(2) (theft), 329(4) (criminal trespass), and 79 (act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the BharatiyaNyayaSanhita (BNS).
