The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Kajal Meena, her reader, and another administrative staff member in Karauli district for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 60,000, officials said on Thursday.
SDM Kajal Meena arrested in bribe case
The accused are SDM Kajal Meena, her reader Dinesh Kumar Saini, and senior assistant Praveen Dhakad. They caught in Nadoti town while allegedly accepting the bribe to issue a final decree related to a land dispute.
According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the bureau received a complaint stating that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant after initially asking for Rs 1 lakh to process the land decree.
Found 4 lakh along with Rs 60000 bribe
After verifying the complaint, an ACB team from Sawai Madhopur set a trap and caught the accused accepting Rs 60,000, which included Rs 50,000 for the Kajal Meena and Rs 10,000 for the reader.
During the operation, officials also found Rs 4 lakh in cash in a bag carried by the accused. This amount is considered suspicious and is under investigation.
The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is ongoing.
