There are around 30 people, including women and children, were killed when the Pakistan Air Force dropped eight bombs on a village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday. As per the reports, the LS-6 bombs were dropped from JF-17 fighter jets on the Pashtun-majority Matre Dara village around 2 am. The blast destroyed a large part of the village.
30 killed and others injured after bomb dropped by Pakistan Air Force
Local media reported that several people were also injured, but confirmation of this was still awaited. They stated that the air force was targeting Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts in the area. All the victims were civilians.
Recently, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has seen several military actions against terrorists hiding in the mountainous region near Afghanistan. On Sunday, the army announced that seven TTP terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district.
Terrorist activities by Pakistan increased
Of the seven victims, three were Afghan nationals and two were suicide bombers, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the army. On September 13-14, at least 31 TTP terrorists killed in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Recently, Pakistan Air Force has experienced an increase in terrorist activities, particularly in provinces bordering Afghanistan. PM Shehbaz Sharif stated last week that Afghanistan must choose between siding with terrorists or standing with Pakistan.
