Rajasthan Police arrested a man and seized nearly 10,000 kg of explosive material from an abandoned farmhouse in Nagaur district. This discovery revealed what officials call a large smuggling network in the area.
10,000 Kg Explosives Found in Rajasthan
The suspect, Suleman Khan detained after a joint operation by the district special team and local police. The explosives found in a farmhouse located in Harsaur village within the Thawla police station area.
During the raid, police found 187 sacks of ammonium nitrate weighing about 9,550 kg. They also found detonators, wires, and various other explosive components. The seized items included 9 cartons of detonators, multiple bundles of blue and red wires, cartons of different sizes of “gullas,” dudet material, wooden boxes, and packets of APSOD explosive substances.
Found explosives in farmhouse
Officials said that the explosives hidden in four separate rooms of the farmhouse in Rajasthan, likely to avoid detection. Nagaur Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachhawa mentioned that initial questioning suggested that the suspect supplied the material to those involved in illegal mining activities.
“He admitted during initial interrogation that he selling the explosive material to individuals engaged in unlawful mining operations,” the officer said.
Police believe the seized items could be worth several crores of rupees in the illegal market. Investigators found that Suleman has a criminal record, with three previous cases against him. Two of those cases currently tried, while he acquitted in one.
