A disturbing case of murder surfaced in Surat, Gujarat. A man killed his wife, hid her body in a wooden crate at an abandoned house, and then reported her missing to mislead the police.
Man Kills Wife in Surat, Conceals Body in Cement Crate
The situation came to light when the suspect, 40-year-old Vishal Salvi, contacted the police to say that his wife, 39-year-old Shilpa Salvi, was missing. He claimed that Shilpa, a dietician not seen for four days. The police began a standard missing person investigation, but the case quickly changed direction.
A handwritten note found at the couple’s home that allegedly written by Vishal, became a crucial piece of evidence. Their young son discovered the note and gave it to the police. It contained a message suggesting that Vishal had made a serious mistake and that Shilpa was no longer alive.
Murder and then file missing report
As a result, investigators shifted from a missing persons case to a suspected murder. Following leads, the police identified an old, abandoned property linked to Vishal in the Salabatpura area. When officers broke into the locked house, they met with a strong odor coming from a wooden crate in the corner of the room.
Inside the crate, they found the decomposed body of the missing woman, that covered with raw cement. Initial investigation by Surat Police reveal the murder may have occurred four to five days before Vishal filed the missing person report.
