A 19-year-old boy was attacked by at least 10 people outside a government school in Sector-14 in Gurugram. Police believe it was a revenge attack linked to a past dispute.
The victim, who lives in Sector-15 Part-2, suffered at least 14 injuries, including multiple fractures in both arms and legs. Police said that they have identified all suspects and plan to arrest them soon.
Group of 10 assault the 19 year old body in Gurugram
Investigators reported that the attackers came in two cars and waited near the school. After the victim exited around 1:45 PM, having completed his Business Studies exam, he was dragged to a nearby spot on the Old Delhi-Gurugram road. There, he was beaten with wooden bats and iron rods for about 10 minutes.
In his statement to police, the victim said one of the attackers grabbed his phone when he tried to call his parents. “One of the suspects had a gun and threatened me with serious consequences. They kept hitting me until I lost consciousness,” he told investigators.
Students take the teen to hospital
Police noted that no one in the area reported the attack. Eventually, some students who knew the injured teenager took him to the civil hospital in Sector-10A, where doctors informed the police.
Sandeep Turan, the public relations officer for Gurugram police, said investigations indicated a history of conflict. “The investigation revealed that the 19-year-old had allegedly assaulted another boy last year. An FIR was filed against him, which led to his arrest,” he said.
“He also spent a couple of months in Bhondsi jail last year and was released on bail. It is likely that he was targeted by rivals seeking revenge,” Turan said.
