Sanjay Raut, a leader of Shiv Sena, announced on Friday that he step back from public life for the next two months due to serious health issues. Without providing more details, the 63-year-old said he is receiving treatment and will recover and return soon.
Raut, a member of the Rajya Sabha, has a strong voice in Uddhav Thackeray’s party and known for his fearless stance against the BJP-NDA government.

“Following medical advice, I have been told to stay away from public appearances and gatherings for a while. I regret this deeply. I believe I will recover completely and, hopefully, see you all again in the New Year,” Raut said. Sources close to Raut mentioned that doctors advised him to rest after he underwent two angioplasties in 2019 and 2020, according to PTI.
PM Modi wish for fast recovery
PM Modi also wished Sanjay Raut a speedy recovery and good health. “Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
Raut believes he will fully recover soon and hopes to regain his health by next year. His absence pose a challenge for Uddhav’s Shiv Sena (UBT) as it prepares for local body elections in the next two months. Raut has played a key role in uniting the two Thackeray cousins, Uddhav and Raj, to run together in the civic polls.
