The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2026) experienced delays on May 30 due to a technical problem that affected the start of exams at several centers nationwide. This issue primarily impacted the second shift, causing students to wait beyond their scheduled check-in times.
CUET UG exam delay, Revised shift timings out
According to the revised schedule from NTA, candidates for the afternoon session must report starting at 2:30 pm. The exam will now begin at 4:00 pm instead of the original 3:00 pm start time. For those on the morning shift, the agency confirmed that the full duration of the exam offered, and students can only leave after finishing the test.
NTA said that extending the time meant to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates taking the exam. The agency also apologized for the trouble caused to students and parents, mentioning that they are taking steps to prevent such issues in future sessions.
NTA report technical issues
In an official update on X, the National Testing Agency (NTA) explained that the delay resulted from a technical glitch reported by its service provider, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The post confirmed that the exams continue with additional time to ensure no candidate is disadvantaged by the delay.
