NTA Chief: No Full NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak from Our Systems

The National Testing Agency (NTA) informed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education that no major paper leak occurred during the NEET-UG 2026 examination, stating that “only certain questions came out.” The agency, responsible for conducting the exam, suggested that cases of malpractice led to the exam’s cancellation, according to sources.

NTA assure no NEET UG leaks in 2026

This statement from the NTA contradicts Union Education Minister DharmendraPradhan, who admitted there was a “breach in the chain of command” and indicated that the government was accountable for the NEET paper leak, which caused significant controversy.

The NEET-UG 2026, a nationwide pre-medical entrance exam cancelled due to claims of a major paper leak and the spread of a “guess paper” that included several actual exam questions. This prompted investigations by the CBI and scrutiny from parliament regarding the NTA. In response to protests, the agency announced a re-examination scheduled for June 21.

What does the Education Minister said?

NTA Chief Abhishek Singh called to meet with the committee amid the ongoing issues. Sources at the meeting reported that NTA officials asserted that, while they found cases of malpractice and irregularities, these did not add up to a complete breach of the examination paper. The agency pointed out that even a small compromise of questions can undermine trust in the system, which led them to cancel the exam under their strict policy against such actions.

However, Education Minister Pradhan acknowledged the breach during a press conference on May 15 and promised a thorough investigation. He referred to a committee led by former ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan, formed after the 2024 NEET paper leak and said “Despite following the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan committee, there was a breach in the command chain. We accept it and take responsibility to improve it.”
