The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) released its manifesto less than a week before the Phase 1 voting for the Bihar assembly elections in 2025. They made significant promises to create 1 Crore Government Jobs in a state known for its high rates of migration. The manifesto emphasizes women’s empowerment initiatives.
1 Crore Government Jobs turn 1 Crore Lakhpati Didis
The goal is to turn one crore women into ‘lakhpati didis’. Additionally, there is a plan for a substantial infrastructure boost, including the construction of four international airports and seven expressways in Bihar. The NDA also plans to build 50 lakh new pucca houses, provide free rations, 125 units of free electricity, free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, and social security pensions under the PM Awas Yojana.
BJP chief JP Nadda and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released the NDA’s Sankalp Patra in Patna this morning. Senior leaders from the alliance were present. The alliance includes the BJP, JDU, Chirag Paswan’s LJP, and other parties.
Youth and Employment
The most significant announcement of 1 Crore Government Jobs focused on employment in a state that sees many workers migrate every year. If re-elected, the NDA pledged to conduct a skill census to ensure skill-based jobs for every young person in Bihar.
The manifesto said, “We will establish Bihar as a global skilling center with mega skill centers in every district.” Additionally, several ‘Centres of Excellence’ for sports will be established in Bihar Sports City and other areas.
