The wife of Haryana Police’s ASI Sandeep Kumar Lathar, who committed suicide in October, will receive a government job at Campus School in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, CM Nayab Singh Saini announced.
Government Job Approved for ASI Widow
This decision made during a Cabinet meeting led by Saini. Speaking to the media afterward, Saini confirmed that Santosh Kumari, Lathar’s wife, appointed to the PGT Mathematics Group B position at Campus School in Rohtak.
Lathar, who worked in the cyber cell in Rohtak, allegedly shot himself on October 14. He left behind a note accusing the late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar of corruption. Kumar allegedly took his own life at his residence in Chandigarh on October 7.
Cabinet expand Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana
The Cabinet also decided to expand the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, which provides eligible women in Haryana with financial assistance of Rs 2,100 each month. Saini mentioned that currently, women from families earning up to Rs 1 lakh per year receive this amount. Now, this benefit will also extend to women whose children achieve more than 80 percent in Classes 10 and 12.
The Chief Minister noted that over one lakh women have applied for the scheme, and eight lakh are already benefiting from it. The Lado Lakshmi Yojana is available to both married and unmarried women aged 23 to 60, from families with annual incomes of up to Rs 1 lakh. Saini also highlighted that the Haryana government is taking significant steps to promote “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.”
