She was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital with exhaustion and a chest infection. Then, she suffered from the cardiac arrest. As per family sources, she passed away at 92 and her last rites scheduled for April 13. Known for her dedication, she had expressed a desire to keep singing until her last breath and remained active in music until the end.

Asha Bhosle artistry stemmed from her ability to convey emotional truth, allowing her to fully embody songs that were playful, sensual, or sorrowful. She explored cabaret, folk, ghazals, pop, and classical music with equal skill, broadening the expressive range of playback singing. Iconic collaborations with O.P. Nayyar and R.D. Burman produced some of Indian cinema’s most innovative soundscapes, mixing jazz, rock, and Latin rhythms with local styles.
Throughout her career, Bhosle recorded over 11,000 songs in more than 20 languages, earning a Guinness World Record and numerous awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan.
