Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is holding steady at the box office, even with slight drops in earnings after the Diwali holiday. The film had a strong opening on Diwali, and in the two days that followed, it maintained its position, though it hasn’t exactly been a blockbuster.
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat box office update
The film opened with a solid ₹9 crore net in India on Tuesday. On its second day, it experienced a drop of only 14%, bringing in ₹7.75 crore. On Thursday, the third day of release, the Milap Zaveri film added another ₹6 crore, making its domestic total after three days ₹22.75 crore. The decline in earnings on Thursday was just over 22%.
In contrast, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma, which also hit theaters on the same day, saw its earnings fall by 33% that day. While Thamma made more money due to a wider release, film shown a better performance during the weekdays. Over the three days, it experienced only a 33% drop, while Thamma fell by nearly 50%.
If the film crosses ₹50 crore net by Sunday, it will be a win for the team, given its modest budget of just ₹25 crore.
