Too much or orgasm! The reason why Nicole Kidman asked to stop filming sex scenes for Babygirl

In an interview, Kidman candidly said that the love scenes with Banderas and Dickinson were too much to handle. The performances were so intense that she had to stop the sex scenes on many occasions for Babygirl. She cited deep trust moments while shooting those scenes but moments of frustration too, where at one point she was like, “Don’t touch me.”

“There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to orgasm any more. Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life! I’m over it.’

“It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout,”

Kidman admitted that filming the sex scenes for Babygirl required the actor to be in a place of vulnerability that extended beyond her previous professional experiences. Kidman purposely chose the adult film!

“I’ve always been on a quest as an actor. I’m always going, where have I not been? And what can I explore as a human being? And this was an area I’d never been.”

At the premiere of Babygirl at the Venice Film Festival, the critics spoke very well of Kidman’s performance, saying that she gave an essential depth to this character. Scenes of the film having sexuality involve just that kind of emotion and never in a sensational manner. Director Halina Reijn has said of Kidman and Dickinson’s characters, that they confronted problems of power, gender, and age, allowing her to explore primal instinct and hierarchy in a way that felt both rebellious and free.
