Gautam adani, chairman of the Adani Group, has once again become India’s richest man, beating /surpasses Mukesh Ambani. Adani has been inching closer to Ambani for some time now thanks to the bull market in his stocks.

With most of those troubles behind him, Adani’s wealth has crossed that of Reliance’s chief, whose wealth is directly linked to the value of his nine listed entities.

After the Indian Supreme Court ruled in favour of Adani, the company received a boost shortly after. According to the apex court, the case does not warrant the transfer of the investigation to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) or any other agency under the facts of the case.

A $7.67 billion investment by Gautam Adani

As gautam Adani surpasses Mukesh Ambani as India’s richest man, Gautam Adani added $7.67 billion in wealth. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani’s net worth is now $97.6 billion. In the same period, Ambani’s net worth rose by $764 million to reach $97 billion. Adani is now $600 million ahead of Ambani.

A year ago, US-based short seller Hindenburg Researcher released a report alleging stock manipulation and accounting fraud in the Adani Group companies.

As the Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows, Adani’s wealth plummeted from $119 billion on January 24, 2023 to $57.2 billion in March 2023. Since then, his wealth has increased by over $40 billion to reach $97.6 billion.

When it comes to the richest men in the world, Gautam Adani is now ranked 12th, and Mukesh Ambani is ranked 13th.
