CM Siddaramaiah passed Karnataka Budget 2025: Total outlay of Rs 4 lakh crore, additional 1,800 crore for Brand Bengaluru

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented the Karnataka government’s budget 2025, with the total outlay of Rs 4,08,647 crore. The Karnataka Budget 2025 focuses on Galuru overall infrastructure, religious allocations, cinema promotion, and women’s empowerment and maintains fiscal prudence. It was higher ever budget for state, with over Rs 4 lakh crore as outlay. Siddaramaiah laid the revenue expenditure at 3 lakh crore and capital expenditure at Rs 71,000 crore.

Bengaluru get Major Boost by Karnataka Budget 2025

Bengaluru, the capital city, got a major boost in this budget, and the grant increased from Rs 3,000 crore to Rs 7,000 crore. There are additional Rs 1,800 crore for the Brand Bengaluru project also passed. The government has allocated Rs 19,000 crore for tunnel roads in the city, with a total estimated budget of Rs 40,000 crore. They also planned the 40.5 km double-decker at a cost of Rs 8,916 crore, along with a proposal for 120 km of grade separators and flyovers.

The long-pending Peripheral Ring Road project will receive Rs 27,000 crore through a HUDCO bank loan. Under Bengaluru Safe City project, Rs 667 crore has been allocated, and planned to installed 7,500 cameras in city. Their main focus is on Infrastructure development, with major investments including a budget for a double-decker flyover in Bengaluru and tunnel roads. ‘Brand Bengaluru’ initiative improves civic amenities and urban infrastructure.

Women empowerment in focus

Women’s empowerment is the key focus of Karnataka Budget 2025. The government passed the Rs 320 crore to reduce maternal mortality rates. In 10 urban areas, Indira Canteens will maintained by women’s self-help groups. ‘Akka Cafes’ and set up district and taluka Panchayat offices to give entrepreneurial opportunities for women.

The honorarium for Anganwadi workers is raise by Rs 1,000 and for helpers, it increase by Rs 750. Additionally, an 8 % interest subsidy will be given on loans up to Rs 1 lakh for registered street vendors.
