The demand of cool drinks and ice creams are increasing in summers. But who knows ice creams selling in Bangalore made up of detergents powders. Around half of Karnataka’s local ice cream, cool drinks and ice candy manufacturing units have inspected for selling products made with unhygienic conditions. A recent inspection by FDA revealed the Detergents Powder in Ice Creams.
According to New Indian express reports, there are 220 shops inspected, out of 97 get legal notices, and several others get warned for not maintaining the hygiene standards.
Inspections on usage of Detergents Powder in Ice Creams
Inspections revealed usage of detergent powder in cold drinks and ice creams to get creamy texture. It lead chemicals and cause harmful effects on your bone health. A total fine of Rs 38,000 has impose on manufacturing units.
The authority conducts inspection for more than 2 days, and focus on checking preparation methods and quality of food items, consumed by childrens. The officials also examined the range of local manufacturing units engaged in producing soft drinks and ice creams. In many cases, the units are found to using the synthetic milk made from detergent, starch and urea to save their costs.
