Six, along with a pilot, died in a Uttarakhand helicopter crash on Thursday morning. Seven person were on board the helicopter of which six are reportedly dead and one is injured. Of the six those who lost their lives in a helicopter crash, five have been girl tourists. The women have been identified as: Kala Soni (61), Vijaya Reddy (57), Ruchi Aggarwal (56) from Mumbai, Radha Aggarwal (79) from Uttar Pradesh and Vedavati Kumari (48) from Andhra Pradesh.
Passengers died and injured in Uttarakhand helicopter crash
Robin Singh, a 60-year-old pilot from Gujarat has also died in the crash. Bhaskar, 51, from Andhra Pradesh, suffered injuries and is being dealt with. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared the information on social media and expressed condolences to the own family of dead. He wrote, “May God grant peace to the souls of those who died in the coincidence and give power to the bereaved families to undergo this mammoth loss.”
Mr Dhami said he has instructed the administration to offer all possible help to the injured and look into the accident. “I am constantly in contact with the officials on this regard and each situation is being monitored,” he added.
Investigation continue on crash
The helicopter, complete of passengers, became flying from Dehradun to Harsil helipad. From there, the tourists have been to covers a distance of around 30km, to Gangnani, by street. State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) and district management teams at once reached the spot for relief and rescue work. The District Magistrate of Uttarkashi has also left for the location. The cause of Uttarakhand helicopter crash is being investigated.
