History is about to be written as the Axiom 4 (Ax-4) group takes to the air from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center today on June 25, 2025. Aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, the 4-member group consists of astronauts from India, Poland, Hungary, and america, marking the first time those three international locations will reach the International Space Station (ISS).
The Ax-4 mission is also only the second government-sponsored human spaceflight for India, Poland, and Hungary since the 1980s. Here’s a have a look at the astronauts on board.
Axiom 4 Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla (India) – Pilot
From check pilot to astronaut, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla become first Indian to visit the International Space Station and, the second Indian in the area after Rakesh Sharma (1984). An IAF officer from Lucknow, Shukla is a part of India’s Gaganyaan astronaut pool. On Ax-4, he’s going to lead research on microbial conduct, muscle loss, and space farming.
