At least 27 people killed and over 160 injured when Bangladesh Air Force training Jet hit a school campus in Dhaka. The crash occurred at Milestone School and College in the northern Uttara area of Dhaka. The army said in a statement that the F-7 BGI training plane had taken off at 1:06 PM.

“Bangladesh Air Force’s F-7 BGI training plane crashed in Uttara,” the military’s public family members department said. Footage from the scene showed smoke rising near a lawn while as a crowd watched from a distance. The plane had hit the side of a building, hit its walls and iron grills. Firefighters were seen dousing the wreckage with water.
19 bodies recovered from the crash site, The Dhaka Tribune stated Fire Service and Civil Defence Director General Muhammad Jahed Kamal as saying. 164 injuries reported till the date, per the same paper. Dr Bidhan Sarker, head of the burn unit at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, advised Reuters, “A third grade student recovered dead, and 3 others, aged 12, 14 and 40, admitted to hospital.
School teacher describe incident
Local teacher Masud Tarik described the Bangladesh Air Force training Jet crashed passed off. “When I pick up my children and went to the gate, I know some thing got here from behind. I heard an explosion. When I looked back, I saw fire and smoke,” he said. Interim Prime Minister Muhammad Yunus extended his condolences and called as the incident “a second of deep sorrow for the state.”
“I explicit my deep surprise and sorrow over the tragic coincidence of the Bangladesh Air Force’s F-7BGI education aircraft crash in Ampas today. The loss to the Air Force and Milestone School and College students, parents, teachers and staff, and others, on this accident is irreparable,” he wrote.
