Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, are both much wealthier than Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This information comes from the public asset declarations made by the State Cabinet members on the last day of 2025.
Mr. Kumar has just ₹20,552 in cash and ₹57,000 in total bank deposits. This includes ₹27,217 in the State Bank of India (SBI) at the Patna Secretariat, ₹3,358 in the SBI branch at Parliament House, Delhi, and ₹27,191 in the Punjab National Bank on Boring Road, Patna.

His total assets are valued at ₹1.66 crore, which is an increase of ₹68,455 compared to last year’s declaration. He possesses movable assets worth ₹17.66 lakh and immovable assets totaling ₹1.48 crore. Mr. Kumar does not own any agricultural land or a house in Patna. He has a flat in Dwarka, Delhi (Sector-5), which he bought in 2004 for ₹13.78 lakh. Its current market value is now ₹1.48 crore. He also does not invest in mutual funds or insurance policies.
Mr. Kumar has two gold rings and one silver ring with pearls, totaling a market value of ₹2,03,000. He owns 10 cows and 13 calves, collectively worth ₹1.45 lakh. Other notable assets include a treadmill priced at ₹35,000, a charkha (spinning wheel) valued at ₹10,550, an exercise cycle, and various household appliances like a microwave.

BJP leader Deputy CM Mr. Choudhary, who leads the Home Department, has declared assets worth ₹6.38 crore. He has ₹1.35 lakh in cash and ₹34.88 lakh in bank deposits. His wife’s bank account holds a balance of ₹12.82 lakh. He enjoys firearms and possesses an NP Bore Rifle worth ₹4 lakh, along with a revolver given to him by his father, valued at ₹2 lakh. Additionally, he owns a Bolero Neo worth ₹7 lakh.
Mr. Choudhary has purchased bonds exceeding ₹30 lakh and LIC insurance policies valued at over ₹19 lakh. He also has jewellery and bullion worth ₹20 lakh. His wife, Kumari Mamta, holds 200 grams of gold with a market value of ₹20 lakh.
