Cabinet Approved Railway Expansion Project Of Worth ₹18,658 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union Cabinet on Friday, April 4, approved railway initiatives worth nearly ₹18,658 crore for states like Maharashtra, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, per the reliable press launch from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA). According to the data, the Cabinet Approved Railway Expansion Project and targets to launch 4 projects covers 15 districts in 3 states, increasing the Indian Railways community by up to minimum 1,247 kms.

“The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired through the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved 4 initiatives of Ministry of Railways with overall value of Rs. 18,658 crore (approx.),” stated the reliable declaration.

Cabinet Approved Railway Expansion Project

The launch also disclosed the details of the project, such as building the 3rd and the 4th line at Sambalpur – Jarapda (in Odisha), the 3rd and 4th line at Jharsuguda – Sason (in Odisha), the 5th and 6th line at Kharsia – Naya Raipur (in Chattisgarh), and the project in Gondia – Balharshah (in Maharashtra).

According to the central authorities, the projects are located in crucial routes which might be wanted for the transportation of commodities like agricultural products, fertilizer, coal, iron ore, steel, cement, and limestone, amongst other materials.

Route Significance

Cabinet Approved Railway Expansion Project with the new aim to witness also freight site visitors of importance 88.77 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum). Mentioning the environmental impact of the tasks the authorities also stated that they aim to reduce the oil import at the side of controlling carbon emissions as they hope to reduce logistical rate in India.

“The Railways being environment friendly and power efficient mode of transportation, will help each in achieving climate dreams and minimizing logistics rate of the country, reduce oil import (95 Crore Litres) and reduce CO2 emissions (477 Crore Kg) that’s equal to plantation of 19 Crore bushes,” per reports.
