Noted Tamil YouTuber Felix Gerald arrested on Tuesday for spreading false information about Karur Stampede incident. It results in 41 deaths and over 50 injuries, according to police.

His arrest follows the police filing cases against 20 people for allegedly spreading rumors about the stampede. Three people already arrested in connection with this matter. Gerald manages a YouTube channel that covers current topics in Tamil.
In another case, a special police team arrested Pounraj, a functionary of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He is accused of hiding party official Mathialagan, a key suspect in the stampede case, who already taken into custody. Mathialagan was one of the three TVK office bearers named in the FIR related to the stampede. The other two are TVK state general secretary Bussy Anand and deputy general secretary Nirmal Kumar.

The three TVK officials are charged under sections 105 (culpable murder not amounting to murder), 110 (attempt to commit culpable murder), 125 (endangering the lives of others), and 223 (disobedience to order) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have also filed charges against them under Section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act, 1992.
According to the FIR, TVK chief Vijay arrived late at Velusamypuram in Karur district, led to overcrowding and agitation among the crowd that gathered for his rally on September 27.
