Tensions rise in the West Bengal’s Murshidabad district after clashes occurs during the Ram Navami procession. The clash between two groups injured 15 people. This situation become violent when argument during the procession escalated into violence. Both sides threw stones at each other and damaged property in the area, a senior police officer reported.
15 Injured in Ram Navami Clashes in West Bengal
Security forces, deployed in large numbers to restore order, have been conducting patrols and keeping watch in the affected areas.
“The situation is now under control. We have deployed enough forces, and patrolling is ongoing to ensure peace and normalcy. We are closely watching the situation and will take strict action against those involved in the violence,” the police officer said.
Meanwhile, authorities have urged residents to stay calm as security measures have intensified across the region, a senior official at the State Secretariat said.
