Congress MP and previous Punjab leader minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday stated the government has to take robust and decisive action towards Pakistan following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and wondered about the authenticity of the 2019 surgical strikes, announcing nobody had visible any proof of them.
Addressing a press convention after the Congress Working Committee assembly, Channi stated the government had performed not anything even 10 days after the attack. “We demand concrete steps and the complete country is looking to peer what movement might be taken towards Pakistan,” he said. “People are expecting the so-called 56-inch chest to act. We want the government to respond unexpectedly and give results,” he introduced.

However, following robust complaints from the BJP, Channi backtracked from his comments. “I have also said earlier that the Congress birthday celebration, in this hour of grief, is status via the authorities. If the government disrupts their (Pakistan’s) water supply, air or whatever motion it takes, we are status like a rock with it,” he said.
BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan accused him of insulting the militia, saying, “Now, he insults the militia once more, pronouncing they (the Army) said that we did a surgical strike on Pakistan, but no person noticed it.” Kesavan also accused Channi of making a disrespectful comment, regarding it as “stuntbaazi” in 2024 while Corporal Vicky Pahade was killed in the Poonch attack.
Other political leaders questioned on Surgical Strikes
Delhi minister and BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also support the feedback of Charanjit Singh Channi of questioning the Indian Army and Air Force.
“Congress has over again raised questions about our navy and our air force. Charanjit Singh Channi has said that he does not trust the surgical strikes and needs proof. What type of mentality is this? Rahul Gandhi again and again increases questions about our navy and air pressure, calling them liars,” Sirsa claimed.
