On Sunday, Israel stated it had launched new attacks in the heart of Tehran, while Iranian attacks continued throughout the region. Why have the US and Israel attacked Iran? Trump has said the goal of the operation is to ensure that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon. “We’re going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground. It is totally obliterated,” he said in an eight-minute video posted on Saturday morning.
