A senior J & K Official officer killed as Pakistan targeted civilian regions in Rajouri and different elements of the Union Territory this morning. CM Omar Abdullah stated he had no words to explicit his shock and disappointment, adding that the officer had attended a meeting with him hours before his tragic death.
“Devastating news from Rajouri. We have lost a officer of the J&K Administration Services. Just the day past he was accompanying the Deputy CM around the district & attended the online meeting I chaired. Today the house of the officer hit by Pak shelling as they focused Rajouri town killing our Additional District Development Commissioner Sh Raj Kumar Thappa. I’ve no words to express my shock & sadness at this big loss of life. May his soul relaxation in peace,” the Chief Minister said in a post on X.
Tragic death of J & K Official
BJP leader Ravinder Raina said he “deeply saddened” by Mr Thappa’s loss of life. “He was very daring and a people-friendly officer who served the country and society with utmost sincerity,” he stated.
Civilian areas in J & K come under heavy fire from throughout the border after India achieved centered strikes on terror bases in Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack wherein 25 innocents killed in deadly attack.

Several people killed after Pakistan centered civilian areas in J & K in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, under which India struck 9 places with terror infrastructure connected to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The terror structures, banned in several elements of the sector, have been backing acts of terror on Indian soil for many years.
