All Nandini milk and curd products in the state will increase Rs 4 more from April 1, introduced Karnataka Animal Husbandry Minister K Venkatesh. The price had been accelerated to encourage dairy farming, the minister stated. According to the minister, the decision to increase the price of Karnataka Milk became taken in the course of a cabinet assembly chaired via Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
“It became agreed to boom the selling rate of Nandini milk and curd by Rs 4 per litre/kg that allows you to encourage dairy farming in state,” Venkatesh stated, adding that the hike was implemented, taking into account the value of milk manufacturing and processing.
Karnataka Milk price increase by Rs 4/litre
From April 1, Nandini products can have the following prices
- Toned milk: Rs 46 per litre (From Rs 42)
- Homogenised toned milk: Rs 47 per litre (From Rs 43)
- Cow milk (green packet): Rs 50 per litre (From Rs 46)
- Shubham milk: Rs 52 per litre (From Rs 48)
- Curd: Rs 54 per litre (From Rs 50)
The flow comes a month after the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) proposed a price hike of Rs 5 per litre for the Nandini brand milk and related products. The idea, in keeping with KMF, become to support farmers via meting out 90 % of the improved charges to them. KMF had assured its milk stays inexpensive compared to different states, notwithstanding the hike.
This is the best charge hike by KMF in last 3 years. KMF raised milk expenses via Rs 3 per litre in 2022. In 2024, it placed into effect a Rs 2 price increase per packet, but introduced 50 ml more milk per litre, and claimed it did not represent a price hike.
