PM Modi inaugurated the remaining sections of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS metro. This includes a 5 km stretch between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, as well as a 21 km stretch between Meerut South and Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh. The RRTS now linked with the Meerut Metro services that also launched.
Boost connectivity by Delhi-Meerut RRTS and Meerut Metro
Mr.Modi said that the entire 82 km corridor of the RRTS project shows how connectivity will look in a developed India. This system uses Metro rail for city travel, and Namo Bharat trains to connect the “dual cities.” “This integration allows commuters to travel within the city or go directly to Delhi.
It ends the need for many workers and students to live in rented houses in Delhi. A unique feature of the project is the integration of Indian Railways, Metro, and bus stands at Sarai Kale Khan, AnandVihar, Ghaziabad, and Meerut,” Mr.Modi said.
Create job opportunities
Discussing regional development, he said, “The government’s investment in modern infrastructure, such as expressways, freight corridors, and the Jewar International Airport is creating many job opportunities. These projects are bringing new industries and businesses to the region.”
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, at the inauguration, said the proposal for two new rapid rail corridors starting from Sarai Kale Khan expected to approved soon. “One corridor run from Sarai Kale Khan to Karnal in Haryana, covering about 125-130 km that completed in about one-and-a-half hours. Another route planned to connect Sarai Kale Khan with Babarpur in Haryana and Neemrana in Rajasthan,” the Minister reported.
