Narendra Modi Enters 25th Year of Leadership in India

On Tuesday, PM Narendra Modi celebrated 25 years of public service. He thanked citizens for their ongoing trust and support, promising to work with renewed determination to achieve the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

In a post on X, the PM shared, “On this day in 2001, I took oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister for the first time. Thanks to the blessings of my fellow Indians, I am entering my 25th year of serving as the head of the Government. My gratitude goes to the people of India. Through all these years, I have aimed to improve the lives of our people and contribute to the progress of this great country that has nurtured us all.”

Narendra Modi lead Gujarat in 25th year of leadership

Reflecting on his early days in office, PM Modi recalled that the BJP had given him the responsibility of leading Gujarat during hard times. “The state was suffering from a massive earthquake that same year. In the years before, we faced a super cyclone, repeated droughts, and political instability. Those challenges strengthened my resolve to serve the people and rebuild Gujarat with renewed energy and hope,” he said.

He also remembered his late mother’s words on the day he took the oath. “When I became CM, my mother said to me, ‘I do not have much understanding of your work, but I seek two things. First, you always work for the needy people. Second, you will never take a bribe,’” he recalled. “I also told people that whatever I do will be with the best intent and will be inspired by a vision to serve the last person in line,” he added.

Remarkable progress in 25th years

The PM Narendra Modi said his 25 years of service have been filled with many experiences where India made remarkable progress. Reflecting on his time as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, he said, “When I took over, many believed that Gujarat could never rise again. Common citizens, including farmers, complained about a lack of power and water. Agriculture was struggling, and industrial growth was stagnant. From that point, we all worked together to make Gujarat a model of good governance.”
