The police said that the initial investigation rules out robbery as a motive. “The attackers did not try to take anything. They came only to vandalize the café. The entire act lasted less than two minutes,” DCP Zone-2 Vivek Singh told. Police believe the attack is linked to a personal rivalry.
Café owner claims personal rivalry behind, reveals 5 names
Bhopal Café owner Saksham Giri has filed a First Information Report (FIR) naming 5 individuals, including Yogi, Nikhil, and Abhishek, along with several unidentified people. Police have arrested two of those named in the complaint and detained three more for questioning.
According to police sources, the investigation has shown that the attack may connected to a previous clash between two student groups. On November 16, a fight broke out where a man named Yogi was reportedly beaten by Abhishek Rajput and his friends. An FIR regarding that incident was filed at the Katara Hills police station. Abhishek is said to be a friend of one of the café’s partners.
“Evidence so far points to the involvement of rival groups. We are exploring all angles, including the possibility of retaliation,” DCP Singh said.
