Groom family shows 8.5 crore cash on bride in Punjabi Wedding
Meanwhile, several social media accounts claimed that crores of rupees were spent, turning the event into what many called a “grand cash party.” However, Sikander Singh, the groom’s brother, clarified that while money was indeed showered at the celebration, the amount was far less than what was reported online.
“My brother runs a truck business in Australia. The marriage was on February 14. We celebrated by showering money, but it was about Rs 2 lakh. Social media exaggerated it to crores, which is wrong,” he said.
Palace manager rejects the claims
The event manager and DJ who handled the function also rejected the viral Rs 8.5 crore claim. They said that the total cash involved was around Rs 4 lakh, including some dollar notes. They expressed confusion about how the crore figure emerged and gained popularity in Punjabi Wedding.
Despite the clarifications, the video continues to attract attention and draws mixed reactions. While some viewers appreciated the grandeur and celebratory spirit, others criticized what they saw as excessive spending.
