Taj Cement launches road safety awareness campaign to promote responsible driving habits

Taj Cement, a cement brand in Northeast India, has launched a comprehensive road safety awareness campaign to promote responsible driving habits. With the increasing number of road accidents in the region, the initiative highlights the need for safety measures such as helmet use, seat belts, and avoiding drunk driving and over-speeding.

The campaign is being conducted at key locations across Guwahati, Shillong, and Golaghat, but through social media to reach netizens. In this way, the message can be reached across diverse audiences on the ground as well as online.

Taj Cement’s Commitment to Community Well-Being

Speaking on the initiative, Sanjeev Surekha, Group CFO of Taj Cement, highlighted his commitment to the safety of communities. “As a brand deeply connected to the Northeast, it is our responsibility to contribute towards the well-being of our people. Through this campaign, we hope to encourage a culture of road safety and urge everyone to put lives before speed,” he said.

Taj Cement’s team is actively engaging with the public, conducting street-level awareness drives and distributing educational material on traffic rules and responsible behavior. The campaign also uses kiosks and interactive sessions to connect with the younger audience and inspire them to make better choices on the road.

This effort serves in line with the company’s vision to make society cleaner and more ethical. It goes ahead of an “Honest Cement” by Taj Cement aimed at making society safe and adopting transparent, more responsible, sustainable business practices.

It is aligned with the National Road Safety Month 2025 observed by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) between January 1 and 31. This campaign aims to bring citizens, especially the youth, into mainstream discourse to disseminate information regarding road safety and help reduce deaths resulting from accidents.

Taj Cement hopes to impact road safety in meaningful ways through the tackling of a critical issue and its solid presence in the region.
