How to Link Your RuPay Card with Google Pay

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) support for RuPay credit cards was launched by Google Pay on Tuesday in association with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). RuPay credit cards can now be linked to Google Pay so that users can make payments at all merchants that accept RuPay credit cards, both online and offline.

This feature will be available to RuPay credit card holders from Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank, Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Punjab National Bank and Union Bank of India.

Like most payment apps, Google Pay only supported debit card payments before the latest update. At present, there is no option to add Visa or Mastercard-issued credit cards to Google Pay or any other UPI payment app in India. Users can use their RuPay credit card to make payments seamlessly to merchants across the nation.

Follow these steps to link a RuPay credit card to Google Pay:

Navigate to the settings menu in the Google Pay app to get started.

Choose a RuPay credit card under the ‘Setup Payment Method’ option in Google Pay.

Please enter the last six digits of your card, the expiration date, and the PIN.

By entering the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your registered mobile number, you will verify the details.

You can now use your RuPay credit card to make payments to any UPI vendor by scanning the barcode provided by the vendor or by entering the recipient’s UPI ID or phone number.
