Types of BBA Majors

There are three kinds of BBA majors in India namely general, technical and professional.

  1. BBA General – It includes international business, entrepreneurship and management as core subjects.
  2. BBA Technical ‐ It focuses on subjects like operational management, supply chain systems and management information systems.
  3. BBA Professional– It emphasises on marketing, advertising, finance and accounting.

Course Structure

BBA is a three-year professional undergraduate course divided into six semesters. It could be both full-time and a correspondence program. Nowadays, even online mode of doing BBA is feasible. Students from educational streams like humanities, science, commerce and arts can also look forward to taking admission in BBA courses. Each semester inculcates six to seven subjects. The course content is updated on a regular basis to be at par with modifications happening in the business sectors.

Six Semesters and subjects- 

  1. First Semester: Principles of management, Financial accounting, Business economics, Business Mathematics, Computer fundamentals, Personality development and communication skill.
  2. Second Semester: Cost accounting,  Quantitative techniques and operations research in management, Database management system, Business economics, Business organisation, Personality development and communication skills. 
  3. Third Semester:  Organisation behaviour, Marketing management, Indian economy, Personality development and communication skills. 
  4. Fourth Semester:  Marketing research, HR management, Taxation laws, Business laws, Business environment, Computer Application. 
  5. Fifth Semester:  Financial management, Marketing management, Values and ethics in business, Production and operations management, Management information systems.
  6. Sixth Semester:  Business policy and strategy, International business management, Project planning and evaluation, Entrepreneurship development, Environmental science.

Eligibility Criteria

For a full-time BBA, the candidate’s age must be more than 17 years and less than 25 years. In addition, students must have a minimum score of 50 % in senior secondary board examinations conducted by a recognised board. Furthermore, students must have English as a subject in their 10+2 curriculum. Correspondence and online courses require students to be just passed in senior secondary exams.

Fee Structure

If a student selects full time BBA, it would cost around 50,000 to 2 lakhs rupees on the minimum. BBA correspondence may cost around 50,000 rupees whereas online mode would cost 30,000 approximately. Higher Education

After completing BBA course, students can apply either for ‘Masters in Business Management’ (MBA) or in ‘Post Graduate Diploma In Management’ (PGDM). While MBA is mostly a two year course, PGDM can be completed in one year.

After doing BBA, a gateway opens for students to get jobs in sectors like finance sector, management sector, real estate business, advertising, digital marketing, sales executive, marketing, consultancy, media management and insurance.
