MDMA Drug Racket Arrested in Hyderabad, Accused Sold Drugs through Dating apps

A MDMA Drug Racket detained in Hyderabad. The drug racket operates through a dating app. The city’s police force detained two drug dealers and seven users. The dealers, identified as M Ramakanth alias Kiran (44) and Mudavath Prasad (30), used code names like ‘rocket’ and ‘pigeon’ on their dating app accounts. They sold drugs to users through the app, many of whom were part of the LGBTQ community.

The dealers obtained drugs like MDMA from a Nigerian supplier in Bengaluru for Rs 10,000 per gram and sold them in Hyderabad for Rs 15,000 per gram, officials said.

MDMA Drug Racket Dealer Arrested

Ramakanth worked as a private sector employee, while Mudavath was a vacuum cleaner technician. They had faced similar drug trafficking charges in July last year but resumed their activities after released on bail.

100 grams of MDMA drugs seized

The Hyderabad police force seized 100 grams of MDMA, 10 mobile phones, and a weighing machine from the dealers, all worth about Rs 15 lakh. Seven users, including a general surgeon, an IT recruiter, and a sex worker, were also detained with the dealers.

Officials reported that one of the detainees in MDMA Drug Racket tested HIV positive, raising serious public health concerns. The accused have been handed over to the Chilkalguda police for further action, officials added.
