Budget 2025: Modi Highlights Middle-Class Tax Relief, Bihar Benefits in Delhi Poll Push

Days before the February 5 polling date in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped up his campaign, focusing on economic development under the BJP and takeaways from Budget 2025. Addressing a gathering in RK Puram, he framed the budget as a major victory for the middle class while targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over governance failures.

Zero tax for ₹12 lakh income? Modi spotlights Budget 2025 as BJP makes its final push in Delhi poll

Ahead of Delhi Poll, PM Modi welcomed the Budget 2025 as “people-centric,” and quoted it for several relief measures given to tax relief. He cited that this present tax regime would have fetched such a heavy tax under the regimes of Jawaharlal Nehru or Indira Gandhi for an individual having ₹12 lakh as his earnings. “Today, under BJP’s honest governance, that same income carries zero tax liability,” he declared while drawing applause from the gathering. He further assured government employees, most of whom live in RK Puram, that pension schemes had been further strengthened and the 8th Pay Commission was on its way.

Modi, therefore, tried to connect with the big Purvanchali voter base in Delhi and claimed that Budget 2025 had delivered for Bihar. “The Purvanchali community has played a crucial role in shaping my political journey,” he said, promising to continue doing so. Directly attacking AAP, he alleged that the ruling party had alienated this voter group by not allowing cultural celebrations like Chhath Puja.

We are ready to serve’ – Modi asks Delhi voters to give BJP a chance after 11 years of AAP rule

He moved the focus to the political battleground by stating that AAP was crumbling ahead of the elections. He further stated, “Even before voting, their broomstick is falling apart,” referring to the recent exit of six AAP MLAs, an apt remark against AAP’s election symbol. He urged Delhiites to give BJP a chance after 11 wasted years under AAP’s governance. “We are ready to serve, and I promise to remove every hurdle that stands in the way of Delhi’s progress,” he vowed.

At a time when the campaign is reaching its end, Modi’s speech has brought out clearly the BJP’s hope to win the mandate of Delhi through middle-class relief, development in Bihar, and anti-AAP sentiment.
