Delhi Assembly session starts on February 24; 14 pending CAG reports, Rs 2,500 aid promise

After Rekha Gupta has announced as CM, the first Delhi Assembly session starts on Monday, 24 Feb. It promised to be a stormy session with 14 pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports.

The House proceedings on first day starts with newly elected MLAs consists CM Gupta and MLA Parvesh Verma being sworn in. Further in session, Rekha Gupta will move motion for BJP Leader Vijender Gupta to elected as speaker. BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht elected as Deputy Speaker. The70-member House has 48 BJP MLAs and 22 AAP MLAs in this session. 

2nd Day of Delhi Assembly session

On 2nd day of three-day session of Delhi’s eighth Assembly, the Governor VK Saxena address house and 14 pending CAG reports on the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will tabled. It will followed by discussions on Lt Governor’s address

Former Delhi CM Atishi will leading the charge in AAP House. She has named the Leader of Opposition (LoP).  Atishi was AP stalwart to retain her seat Kalkaji in elections. It is first occasion in country when leader of opposition and CM in assembly are both women.

Rs 2,500 aid promise in Focus

Opposition AAP set to take up in BJP House for promise of Rs 2,500 financial aid to women in Delhi Assembly session. Ever since Rekha Gupta took oath as CM on 20 Feb, and held the first Cabinet meeting. AAP party has offensive on it, and push the BJP to fulfills their promise and take decision on proposed Mahila Samriddhi Yojana

CM Rekha Gupta, already give assurance that the scheme will be implemented in starting of March. “It will implement with detailed planning, she said.”
