The BJP Party newest high-profile recruit, Raghav Chadha, formerly of the Aam Aadmi Party, released a video statement on Monday addressing criticism over his controversial switch. Chadha and six other AAP leaders left and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party last week.
Raghav Chadha respond to AAP accusations
The AAP expressed feelings of betrayal despite giving Chadha many opportunities, including senior positions and making him the youngest ever Rajya Sabha MP at 33.
In an Instagram video, Chadha, who sources say might become a union minister, said that he gave up a good career, emphasizing that he did not enter politics to advance his own career.
“For the last three days, you have sent me many messages. Most of you are congratulating me, but some want to know why I made this decision. Today’s video is for them and for those who didn’t see my press conference last week,” he said.
Reveal AAP Party force him to keep silence
Raghav Chadha, who helped establish the AAP 15 years ago, said, “Before entering politics, I was a practicing Chartered Accountant. I had a promising career ahead, but I chose to leave it for politics. I didn’t come to politics to build my career.”
Regarding his claim about a toxic work environment, he commented, “You are stopped from speaking in Parliament.” He referred to the party’s decision to remove him as its Rajya Sabha deputy leader on April 2, which cut off his speaking time. Sources close to Chadha said that the party wanted to silence him.
“This political party is now in the hands of corrupt and compromised individuals,” he said, echoing the BJP’s earlier corruption claims against his former party.
