Rekha Gupta is first-time MLA, who take oath as New CM today at Ramlila Ground on Thursday. The oath-taking ceremony is held on February 20. She was chosen as leader of the House in the Delhi assembly at a legislature party meeting. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad with OP Dhankar was appointed as the Party’s two central observers.
Rekha Gupta Delhi CM will sworn today
Rekha Gupta will sworn as new Chief Minister of Delhi at Ramlila Maidan today. The oath will administered by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena with Home Minister Amit Shah, PM Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and others.
She won from Shalimar Bagh seat. She starts political career in 1992 with ABVP at Delhi University. Then, she serves as General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi. She gets victory over three-time AAP MLA Bandana Kumari by 29,595 votes. Her selection as new CM came 10 days after BJP win in Assembly elections. The Party secured 48 out of 70 seats, and end with AAPs decade-long rule. BJP will yet to announce ministerial lineup
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and Outgoing CM Atishi also extend their wishes to Gupta. She will be Delhi’s fourth woman CM after Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi
50,000 Attend Mega Oath-Taking Ceremony
Around 50,000 people, include PM Modi, cabinet colleagues and the chief ministers of NDA-ruled states will attend oath-taking ceremony with Rekha Gupta Delhi CM. The Delhi Police personnel, National Security Guard commandos, and Rapid Action Force personnel will deployed on security at Ramlila Maidan.
The BJP has invited around 30,000 guests, consists key RSS leaders and spiritual Dharm Gurus. Celebrities, Industrialists, Laddli Bahanas, auto drivers, and farmers from Delhi also attend this ceremony.
