Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav said that that someone had hacked his Facebook page. This came just hours after a post on the platform stated he was “in a relationship” with a young woman.
The elder son of RJD president Lalu Prasad, whose post has since been deleted, wrote on X that there was an attempt to “defame and harass” him and his family.
Tej Pratap Yadav FB account hacked, harassing him
“My social media platform was hacked and my photographs were edited incorrectly,” Mr Yadav wrote on X, referring to the post that went viral and caught the attention of the media.
In the post, Mr Yadav was shown with a woman. The caption read, “The one seen in this picture is Anushka Yadav. We have known each other for the last 12 years. We are in love and have been in a relationship for 12 years.”
The post received backlash from social media users, many of whom reminded the 37-year-old politician about his marriage, which took place in 2018.
Fake marriage claims by hacker
Mr Yadav married Aishwarya, the granddaughter of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Rai. However, within a few months, Aishwarya left his house, claiming that she was fed up by her husband and in-laws.
It is unclear whether Tej Pratap Yadav has filed a police complaint about the “hacked” Facebook page and the post. He urged his supporters and followers to be cautious and “pay no heed to any rumours.”
