Indian badminton champion PV Sindhu married Hyderabad-based businessman Venkata Datta Sai on Sunday in a big fat wedding at the posh Raffles Udaipur Resort in Rajasthan. Many prominent faces joined family members and close friends to celebrate the union of the two.
It shall be noted that the two-time Olympic medalist along with Sai had announced the good news of their engagement on their respective social media handles on December 14. The joyful wedding celebrations started on December 20 with colorful and energetic pre-wedding celebrations. A formal reception has been scheduled in Hyderabad on December 24.

Venkata Datta Sai is an executive director with Posidex Technologies from a well-known family. His father, GT Venkateshwar Rao is the managing director at Posidex, a former IRS officer. Sai pursued his Diploma in Liberal Arts at FLAME University and a master’s in Data Science and Machine Learning at the International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru. His work experience includes stints at JSW and Sour Apple Asset Management before joining the family business in 2019.
Whereas, Sindhu is one of the most celebrated athletes in India, and her achievements in badminton have been historic. She is the only Indian to have won the World Badminton Championship, besides earning two Olympic medals, a silver at Rio 2016 and a bronze at Tokyo 2020.
Recently, Sindhu ended a two-year title drought by clinching the Syed Modi International crown. She will also contribute to the development of sports through her sports academy in Visakhapatnam, which broke ground earlier this year.
The wedding thus brings a bright new chapter into the life of the celebrated athlete and her husband as blessings continue to pour in from across the nation.
