BCCI Drops Dream11, Ends ₹358 Crore Partnership Amid Gaming Ban Shake-Up

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the fantasy sports platform Dream11 have ended their partnership after banned Online Gaming Bill, 2025. This Bill bans real-money gaming across the country.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the news to ANI. He said, “BCCI and Dream11 are discontinuing their relationship after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, was passed. BCCI will ensure not to engage with any such organizations in the future.”

Dream11 and BCCI Partnerships ends

Dream11 had a partnership worth $44 million (Rs 358 crore) with the Indian cricket team for the 2023-2026 cycle. The company informed the BCCI that it could not continue the partnership due to the financial impact of the Bill. This legislation, which both Houses of Parliament passed, prohibits any form of real-money online gaming and related advertising. It effectively disrupts the main revenue model for fantasy sports businesses.

The law forbids advertising or endorsements for platforms that enable online games involving money transactions. It also plans to prevent banks and non-banking financial institutions from processing transactions linked to online money games. Sources say the decision came after three and a half years of discussions.

Online real money gaming banned

The Bill addresses issues such as addiction among children and youth, mental health problems, financial losses, and illegal activities like money laundering and terror financing that can occur across borders and state lines. After this, BCCI decide to ends their partnership with Dream11.
